Company Profile

The company ST-Vitrinen Trautmann GmbH was founded in 1979 by Siegfried Trautmann in Bielefeld-Brake, . Siegfried Trautmann modified an old garage for the production of a small selection of showcases and display cabinets, which he built himself in the early years. Within a very short period of time, he established himself and his new products in this specialized market segment.

The breakthrough came with a contract from the Bielefeld Tram Company to build timetable display showcases (Model ST) which would be placed on all of the tram stop platforms throughout Bielefeld. Similar contracts were soon to follow, one of which was for the supply of the complete network of new showcases and display cabinets for Wuppertal’s well known overhead rail system. After the contract with Wuppertal, the company received a steady flow of orders from its customers. This was primarily because of the unique patented framework and form systems, which were especially designed to the customer’s needs and specifications.

A larger selection of showcases and display cabinets followed.

During the 1980’s the company produced high quality specialized showcases for the company "Mont-Blanc", many of which are still in use in airports all around the world.

Due to the growing volume of contracts, Siegfried Trautmann’s soon became too small. In 1983 the company moved into a bigger production hall.

The individualized company strategy and concept of predefined and specialized production of showcases and display cabinets soon found a stable footing in this area in the open worldwide market. The initial production of showcases and display cabinets were intended for outdoor as well as indoor use. Later, open-air display clocks were included in the production range.

In the beginning of the 1990's, due to the increased numbers of orders received, an extension to the company was planned and quickly carried out. A new office complex and various production halls were added.

In 1994 a further expansion of the company took place when TK-Oberflaechen became a partner. This company specialized in powder coating of metal. In the year 2000, an additional expansion of a new logistic center was completed.

ST-Vitrinen currently employs a total staff of 120 employees at two sites, an individualized (single run) and a series production line.
